Phayview#4: Mind voices and body goals

Hi hi…

Having a good day?

It is another lovely (rainy) sunday morning, that means I get to share amazing reads, links and videos i am currently loving.

If you missed the previous shares, please see Phayview#1 Phayview#2 and Phayview#3

Mind voices

What does your inner speech say to you?

Which thoughts do you feed?

With the number of voices in our head giving us both negative and positive ideas, it has become somewhat difficult to control our thought process and focus solely on the positives.

Did I say somewhat? It is actually very difficult and we need a constant ‘positive vibes only’ reminder.

That is why i found this post -》 Two wolves fighting for Supremacy very insightful and thought to share with you.

Basically, this article explains that whatever thoughts we feed gains supremacy in our life.

The blog is called rise and soar.com and it is run by an amazing bundle of experience called Shirley Corder.

The beneficial part is, she uses this platform to encourage cancer survivors (she is one herself) or anyone facing difficult challenges.

Do stop by her blog for some inspiration, uplifting content and counselling.

You can thank me later😉😉

Good vibes

I read my next share only yesterday and it is so timely. A lot of us have body weight goals. While some people handle it well, some others do not. There are also so many popular opinions that put pressure on weight watchers.

The sad part is, social media isn’t helping at all. Go size 8 or Go home?

Love your body by Hayley Beasley Dye is an article I enjoyed reading and if you are pursuing body goals, do read this post and so you can do it right.

Finally, still talking about loving your body, I am totally loving Ed Sheeran’s Shape of you….like I just keep humming the song before i even realise i am…and when it comes up on TV, trust me to burst a move.

Not sure why, but it motivates me to keep at yoga.

Body goals in view😉😉

Enjoy the video with me..will you?

Share your thoughts Lovelies…

  1. Lovely post! I have had a nice and efficient day off, I’ve enjoyed the sun, took some ootd photos, cooked food for next week and just chilled with my fiancee. 🙂

At the moment I’m in love with Coldplay & Chainsmokers song “Something just like this”, especially this part is lovely:
    “I’m not looking for somebody
    With some superhuman gifts
    Some superhero
    Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
    Somebody I can kiss”

Have a great new week Phaytea!

  2. Great post! I try to counter my negative voices by reading or listening to something positive or by simply doing so, something I enjoy! For me, it’s definitely a lot of pressure to look “thicker” (especially in the black community) and the fact that I’m slim can be challenging internally. I sometimes feel self-conscious with all the pressures, but I am learning to love my body (especially postpartum) and just working out to be fit. Currently, I am loving Coldplay’s-“Adventure of a Lifetime” and Kygo & Selena Gomez-“It Ain’t Me”.

  4. Lovely post! Loving that Ed’s song atm & I’ve seen some great parodies of it as well. Especially the one where the mum sings / jokes about her life haha!

  5. Great post! As a Christian girl, I deal with negative voice by reading and meditating on the word of God. It constantly renews my mind on who God says I am versus what my negative thoughts wants me to believe I am.
I started loving melodies lately, songs without words and one artist that enjoy listening to is Joakim Karud https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6o5MVUBWOE
I hopr u like it as much as I do! 🙂

  6. I’m getting good vibes from your words. How do I deal with the voices in my head? I listen to them and write what they are telling me down. When they are negative I respond with positive ideas. It is not always easy, especially when those voices are there because I am upset. But I’ve learned to always tune into the positive channel (comedy videos (laughter is good medicine), healing music, and meditation). All these help me stay balanced. 🙂

  7. It can be rough with all the pressures to look and be perfect sometimes. I know it’s not as hard for guys. But I don’t know. You just have to be happy with you. Not really listening to any music at present. Although I was listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Soundtrack with my daughter.
